Story Pays Out

9 Aug 2026·2 min read

Story chapters now grant gems, coin and training manuals, can be replayed for drops, and open the door to bringing your own team.

Story mode used to be sealed off from the rest of the game. You cleared a chapter, watched the outro, and walked away with exactly what you had before. Everything you pulled on the summon banner had nowhere in the narrative to go.

That's fixed. Combat itself is untouched — every number, kit and ruling is where it was.

Chapters Pay Out

Clearing a chapter for the first time grants a first clear bonus: gems, coin, and training manuals. Part 1 chapters pay 50 gems apiece; Part 2 pays 75.

Every clear — first or fiftieth — also rolls a drop: coin and training manuals, within a range the chapter shows you before you commit. Story is now the best place in the game to farm levelling fuel.

Gems stay first-clear-only, and ascension materials still come from the world boss alone. Each mode keeps its own reason to exist.

Replays Cost Stamina — First Attempts Never Do

An uncleared chapter is free, however many attempts it takes you. Lose five times in a row and it still costs nothing. The story can never be locked behind a stamina bar.

Once you've cleared a chapter, replaying it for drops costs stamina — 5 for a Part 1 chapter, 6 for Part 2.

A Briefing Before Every Chapter

Tapping a chapter now opens a briefing instead of dropping you straight into the scenes. It shows who you're fighting, exactly what the run pays, what it costs, and the team you're taking in.

Cleared chapters get a SKIP STORY button that goes straight to the fight and straight to the rewards afterwards — no sitting through eight panels of narration on a farming run.

Team Freedom, Where the Story Allows It

Each chapter now declares how much of the team is yours. Parts 1 and 2 remain canon — Duke's story is fought as Duke, exactly as written. Future chapters can open some slots or all of them, letting you bring characters you've pulled into the narrative.

Canon leads never require ownership. A brand-new account can play every story battle as intended.
